International Symposium on
27th Oct 2018, 9am-4pm, at Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai
Jainism is one of the oldest religions in the world and due to its principles, it can become the leading religion in today's world. Solutions to the problems of the world are rooted in Jainism, such as Ahimsa, Aparigraha, Anekantavada, the principles of Lord Mahavira on the environment. Jainism’s Past has been very glorious and shiny but the 21st Century environment is shaking beliefs, practices, and foundations of many religions including Jainism at a very alarming speed which will definitely affect its future. This Symposium seeks to raise concerns about the future of Jainism by evaluating the present state of affairs from various perspectives. Various scholars of Jainism, eminent and media personalities from all over the world are participating in the Symposium, which we believe would lead into a movement to have constructive action in nurturing, promoting and safeguarding the core knowledge of Jainism.
